Alessandro Genovesi is a multi-talented Italian artist born in Milan in 1973. He wears many hats in the entertainment industry, working as a director, screenwriter, playwright, and even an actor.

Genovesi’s career began on stage. Genovesi initially started as an actor but later found success writing and directing his plays. His big break came in 2007 with the play “Happy Family,” which he both wrote and directed. The play was a hit, winning awards and eventually being adapted into a film in 2010.

While Genovesi didn’t direct the film adaptation of “Happy Family,” Genovesi did contribute as a screenwriter and assistant director. This experience proved to be a stepping stone, as he made his official directorial debut in 2011 with the comedy “The Worst Week of My Life.” The film was a box office success and even spawned a sequel, both directed by Genovesi.

Since then, Genovesi has continued to write and direct films, tackling various genres from romantic comedies to comedies with a social commentary twist. Some of his notable works include “My Big Gay Italian Wedding” (2018) and “When Mom Is Away” (2019).
