Fred Cavayé (born December 14, 1967) is a French director and screenwriter known for his suspenseful thrillers and darkly comedic dramas. Before diving into the world of cinema, Cavayé started his career as a fashion photographer. In the early 2000s, he transitioned to filmmaking, directing several award-winning short films. His 2008 feature debut, Anything for Her, catapulted him onto the international scene, earning a César Award nomination for Best Debut Feature Film. While Cavayé excels in thrillers, he also ventures into other genres with equal skill. His 2016 film, Radin!, is a hilarious comedy about a penny-pinching businessman forced to confront his priorities. He also directed the critically acclaimed historical drama, Farewell, Mr. Haffmann (2021), set during the Nazi occupation of France.
