Kelendria Trene Rowland (born February 11, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality. She rose to fame in the late 1990s as a member of Destiny’s Child, one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time. The group sold over 60 million records worldwide, won five Grammy Awards, and had 16 number-one songs on the Billboard Hot 100. After Destiny’s Child went on hiatus in 2003, Rowland embarked on a successful solo career. Her debut solo album, Simply Deep (2002), was a commercial success, topping the charts in the UK and spawning the hit singles “Dilemma” (featuring Nelly) and “Stole.” Rowland has since released four more studio albums, all of which have reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200. She has also won three Grammy Awards as a solo artist.
