Sebastian Thiel is a British film director, writer, and producer born in Zambia in 1990. After abandoning dreams of basketball, he turned to filmmaking in 2008. Thiel founded Upshot Entertainment, a production company for his short films and comedic sketches, which gained a following on YouTube.

Thiel’s early success led to recognition by entrepreneur Richard Branson. Thiel has also been featured on TEDx Talks and listed among London’s most influential young people. Thiel transitioned to television, directing shows like “Just a Couple” for BBC Three and episodes of “Riches.”
