Trevante Nemour Rhodes (born February 10, 1990) is an American actor who burst onto the scene with his powerful performance in the Academy Award-winning film Moonlight (2016). But before gracing the silver screen, Rhodes was a decorated track and field athlete, leaving his mark on the world of sprinting before transitioning to the world of drama. Born in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Rhodes and his family relocated to Texas when he was ten. There, his athletic talent blossomed. He excelled in both football and track, specializing in the 100 and 200 meters. His dedication and speed paid off, culminating in a gold medal at the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in 2009.
